Better safety in urban areas.
The eEconic unites eco-friendliness and safety. It is specially optimised for the challenges of urban areas. Its DirectVision concept combines a low seating position with low panoramic glazing so that the driver can see their entire surroundings.
And the eEconic uses cameras and sensors on all sides of the vehicle to help drivers see many of the things that are not visible through the windscreen. This helps to maintain an optimum all-round view. This CO₂-saving Special Truck comes with sophisticated safety assistance systems to help protect all road users and keep drivers safe while they're working.
As a result, the eEconic meets all the requirements of the new General Safety Regulation (GSR) of the European Union. Mercedes-Benz Trucks shares the EU's commitment to the Vision Zero strategy, which aims to make fatal traffic accidents a thing of the past by 2050.

Less noise, cleaner air.
"After thorough preparation with the drivers, we got off to a good start and the electric trucks are performing excellently on their routes. They are simply charged overnight at our new charging station so that they're ready for use the next day", says Freddy Fogh Sørensen, department manager at Meldgaard Miljø.
The experienced recycling company, with locations in several Danish municipalities, handles waste disposal on Bornholm. Meldgaard Miljø’s goal is to develop sustainable solutions for the waste industry. For Bornholm, the eEconic has arrived at just the right time.
The Mercedes-Benz Special Truck is not only specially designed for municipal waste disposal, its locally emission-free and almost silent engine is also perfect for use in eco-tourism hotspots like Bornholm, where the natural world is of particular importance. But it doesn't stop there.
The municipalities see the eEconic as a valuable alternative – the ideal replacement for diesel and gas models.

More and more municipalities electrified.
With the delivery of the eEconic to Bornholm, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is setting a milestone in environmentally friendly waste disposal. Ever since the model was first used in Esbjerg in 2022, the eEconic has become indispensable in the waste disposal sector throughout Denmark.
“The municipalities see the eEconic as a valuable alternative – the ideal replacement for diesel and gas models”, says Mikael Voigt, eMobility Manager at the importer Hessel Trucks. In recent years, almost all municipal tenders have stipulated that fleets must consist exclusively or partially of electric refuse vehicles.
“And we can clearly see the results out on the roads”, says Mikael, “with more than 120 eEconic in operation in more than 20 towns and cities.” And many more are on their way.

A comprehensive service network.
The ten new vehicles are among the first two-axle eEconic to go out on the roads in Denmark. The all-electric Special Trucks can charge their batteries at night, ensuring that the company runs smoothly. What's more, this new vehicle is quiet and clean, helping to protect the environment and improve the quality of life for the local residents.
Alongside the electrification of the fleet on Bornholm, an authorised Mercedes-Benz service workshop was opened on the island. The Nyboes Auto workshop in Rønne has been serving and supplying the island for around 40 years, including for Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles. Now it is also equipped for the special requirements of the electric models.
Nyboes Auto provides quick and easy maintenance of the locally emission-free truck. In total, there are 28 Mercedes-Benz Truck Service Centres in Denmark, forming a dense network that combines fast help with professional support.
Just like how the eEconic combines safety with eco-friendliness.
