Safety made easy: the Econic Traffic Sign Assist system uses camera and map data to detect traffic signs, such as speed limits, overtaking bans and no entry areas. It also warn drivers of driving the wrong way and points out if they exceed the speed limit. This practical support helps to improve drivers’ fitness and concentration.

Busy city centres, busy country roads, crowded motorways: road safety requires a lot of attention, especially from truck drivers who have to keep an eye on many things at the same time. But this can be tiring in the long run. And lead to serious mistakes. The Econic’s Traffic Sign Assist system helps to prevent this.
The eEconic has met the requirements of the European General Safety Regulation (GSR) since May 2024.
In accordance with the General Safety Regulation of the European Union, the safety assistant detects traffic regulations in real time and uses clear signals to remind the driver to comply with them. The system uses state-of-the-art camera technology to detect signs and traffic signs and shows the driver up to two of the most important traffic signs simultaneously directly in the instrument cluster.
Orientation and order.
In addition to speed limits and overtaking restrictions, the detected traffic signs include entry and crossing restrictions and temporary traffic obstruction signs, such as those used on construction sites.
Prompt warnings.
If the driver exceeds the permitted speed or disregards a no-overtaking ban, the system can alert them immediately. A corresponding display lights up repeatedly and a warning tone sounds. When a sign is changed, the assistant can adapt dynamically and also draw the driver’s attention to the new regulation with a clear warning tone.
The proactive warning function of the safety assistance system is designed especially for long, monotonous routes on which the driver’s attention could wane. By helping to improve the driver’s ability to react, Traffic Sign Assist also improves the safety of all other road users.

Helping motorists beat monotony.
Traffic Sign Assist can be deactivated either manually or automatically. If the camera is covered or very dirty, traffic signs are displayed using the stored GPS data of the digital map. The warning tone still sounds. If the GPS also fails or the assistance system is deactivated manually, visual or acoustic warnings are no longer issued.
Restrictions possible.
Traffic Sign Assist is part of the standard equipment of the Econic. However, the system or individual functions are not available in all countries.
