For very narrow roads, FES uses the Mercedes-Benz Atego. The 2-axle vehicle is equipped with a large sweeper and shows its strengths in everyday life in the city.
In the metropolis on the river Main, FES relies particularly on the Atego thanks to its high manoeuvrability and its Blue Angel seal, awarded for its low noise emissions. At the same time, it also achieves high cleaning performance. This keeps Frankfurt clean even in dense residential areas.
Strong in winter, flexible all year round.
The city also needs to function reliably in winter. For this, FES uses the Mercedes-Benz Actros with plough and gritter technology.
Its strength lies in the body swap. As a roll-off truck, the vehicle can be used all year round – in winter it takes on clearing and gritting jobs. A vehicle that can handle several tasks increases uptime and saves resources.
Quiet travel around Frankfurt.
The Mercedes-Benz eEconic is also future-oriented. FES already has 24 in service, being used in daily disposal with a range of different bodies.
And that makes absolute sense as the eEconic fits perfectly into Frankfurt’s urban operations. Its low-floor concept ensures a low entry height and good visibility so that drivers can detect pedestrians and cyclists without delay. At the same time, the vehicle impresses with its range in everyday use.
Thanks to their battery technology, these vehicles are ideally suited for municipal waste disposal in the metropolis of Frankfurt am Main.

The eEconic drives quietly through the streets and operates without CO2 emissions in driving mode. This relieves the burden on local residents and the environment - a great advantage, especially in densely populated neighbourhoods.
FES is also currently expanding its charging infrastructure, with several charging points available at different locations. This will allow the electrification of the fleet to progress. 540 rear loaders are currently in use, and are gradually being replaced by electric vehicles.
