Mercedes-Benz Trucks in widespread use at Lobbe.

Whether environmental service, sewage services or emergency management, at Lobbe, vehicles need to be flexible, robust and reliable. That’s why the company relies exclusively on Mercedes-Benz Trucks throughout the entire group.

Lobbe helps to ensure order and cleanliness wherever waste and residues are generated. The company combines services for industry, waste recovery, recyclable material processing, renovation, sewer services and emergency management. This means a wide range of areas in which vehicles have to work flexibly, robustly and reliably every single day.

The group has a fleet of more than 850 Mercedes-Benz trucks and around 2,750 employees at more than 60 locations - and different models of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.

„That's because they are versatile and compatible with all the bodies we use. They offer impressive reliability, robustness and performance.“

Matthias Reilmann, Head of the Emergency Management Division, Lobbe Umweltservice GmbH & Co KG

Multiple vehicles for multiple applications.

At Lobbe, the fleet handles a variety of tasks. Used are skip loaders, roll-off skip loaders, side loaders, rear loaders, and front loaders. In addition, there are vacuum trucks, combi vehicles with spraying equipment, high-safety vacuum trucks, sweepers, container vehicles and vans for industrial cleaning. Depending on the task at hand, the company will deploy Atego, Arocs, Actros and eActros vehicles with suitable bodies. The fleet is a good indication of how broad the company is.

This variety in particular places high demands on every single vehicle. The truck must fit the body and be able to withstand the load. And it has to work reliably even when there is little room for manoeuvre. These are the critical areas that Lobbe must contend with.

Specialised vehicles are also available for road cleaning and emergency management, including sweepers for general road cleaning, as well as high-pressure sweepers for milling surface and construction site cleaning and thermal surface cleaning machines that are used for the mechanical removal of oil spills. This is precisely how closely the vehicle, body and deployment departments cooperate at Lobbe.

Quiet collection, strong performance.

At Lobbe, the fleet also includes local low-emission collection featuring an electric side loader based on the Mercedes-Benz eActros 300. This shows that the fleet not only handles a wide variety of operations, but also offers environmentally friendly solutions for everyday collection. The fleet ranges from local low-emission collection solutions to highly specialised deployments in emergency management.

Crunch time: removing oil spills.

In the past year, Lobbe handled around 1,400 deployments, 850 of which involved removing oil spills. One thing is clear: this form of deployment is not just a side business. It is an integral part of everyday life.

Every step counts, especially when there is oil on the carriageway. At Lobbe, deployment planning is carried out digitally and site management assigns deployments via iPad. After that, everything must proceed at pace. After all, out on the road, it’s about more than just cleanliness. It is primarily about safety and a carriageway that can be brought back into use again quickly. For these tasks, Lobbe relies on the Mercedes-Benz Arocs as a sweeper with oil track cleaning, amongst other things.

One vehicle for the entire process.

In emergency management, the thermal surface cleaner is a stand-out. The vehicle produces water at up to 80 °C and operates at around 200 bar. There is also a low-pressure system for applying cleaning agents. There are sweepers on the right and left. A very powerful turbine reliably sucks the water back up again.

The procedure is clearly structured. First, the vehicle applies a surfactant cleaner to the oil track. The brush roller then works in the agent. This is followed by suction and a high-pressure nozzle bar. The thermal surface cleaner removes the trace of oil in one step. saving time and ensuring safe operation.

The end result is also crucial. The vehicles are certified so that the road surface grip is restored to the original condition by cleaning. It’s not just about removing visible residue, it's also about ensuring that the carriageway has the right level of grip. This is precisely what makes the thermal surface cleaner so valuable for Lobbe.

Service that keeps pace.

Performance alone is not enough in everyday life - a truck must also be available. Lobbe needs reliability and can rely on the extensive service network of authorised Mercedes-Benz workshops. After all, a vehicle that is returned to use again keeps operations moving, something that is particularly important in a fleet of this size.

Tasks often change, deployments cover different locations, and some parts of the operation cannot tolerate delay. It’s not just the technology on the road that counts, it's the service in the background as well.

A fleet you can rely on.

The removal of oil spills clearly illustrates what is important to Lobbe: when a thermal surface cleaner cleans, vacuums and restores road grip in one step, the benefits of the vehicles become visible immediately. It is precisely these types of deployment that make it clear why a resilient fleet plays a central role at Lobbe.

„Our employees like to drive Mercedes-Benz trucks because they can rely on them when they are in use, regardless of the area in which we're working.".“

Matthias Reilmann, Head of the Emergency Management Division, Lobbe Umweltservice GmbH & Co KG
