No time to waste.

The Arocs 4146 is a vital reinforcement for the fire service at Taichung Airport in Taiwan.

20,000 litres of water, four axles, full power - the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4146 takes fire protection at Taichung Airport to a new level. The airport fire service relies on maximum effectiveness, a fast response and a proven vehicle concept. Why will no other truck do for the emergency services on this mission?

Reaches the site in the blink of an eye.

The Arocs 4146 doesn't hang around. The fire service vehicle, forming part of the fire service in Taichung, a city in Taiwan, is designed to be able to reach deployment sites anywhere on the airport premises in an extremely short time – and in so doing tackle both large-scale and smaller fires.

With 20 tonnes of water on board, 456 hp under the bonnet and an acceleration to 80 km/h in 40 seconds, everything in the Arocs is designed for speed, range and reliability. For the leaders of the Taichung airport fire service, one thing is clear: this Mercedes-Benz truck is unmatched in its class.

Powerful and agile.

The Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4146 is anything but an ordinary truck. The chassis specially developed by Mercedes-Benz Trucks for the fire service offers decisive stability, manoeuvrability and safety at a high level. The four-axle configuration with dual steered axle at the front allows a small turning radius – a major advantage when manoeuvring between aircraft, taxiways and buildings.

The Arocs 4146 is powered by the OM 470 in-line six-cylinder engine with an impressive 12.8 l displacement and 456 hp. This means that the airport fire service can count on continuous performance and efficiency in every deployment.

The Arocs. Your robust partner.

Everything under control.

The electric power steering reduces physical strain at the wheel and improves control of the vehicle even when fully laden. AGM batteries and Bluetooth-supported monitoring make maintenance easy - a clear plus when it comes to availability and operational readiness.

With 20,000 litres of extinguishing water on board – a record throughout Taiwan at the time the vehicle was introduced at the airport – the Arocs is optimally prepared for large-scale fires. The water tank body built by the Taiwanese manufacturer Fire Wolf has been specially designed to tackle the large-scale spread and enormous heat development that are typical of airport fires due to kerosene - for fast and effective fire fighting from the very first moment.

Trust that lasts.

The Arocs' predecessor, an Actros, also from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, had already been in use in the Taichung airport fire service fleet for around 15 years. Robust, reliable and powerful - these properties made it an integral part of the safety structure.

With the new generation of the Arocs, the fire service has once again opted for proven technology from Mercedes-Benz Trucks. With modern assistance systems and even greater capacity, it takes performance to a whole new level. The Arocs 4146 is ready for any challenge between the runway and the terminal – from the smallest incident to a serious emergency.
