Broadly positioned: Unimog, Arocs and eActros at demopark 2025.

This year for the first time, the Arocs and eActros were also on display at Europe’s largest open-air trade fair for the green industry. demopark 2025 ensured to have lots of variety for visitors, with more than 20 Unimog exhibits with various equipment: applications range from greenery maintenance and irrigation to road construction and material transport to winter service operations. demopark visitors were also able to experience the smart UNI-TOUCH® operating system up close in live demonstrations.

Variety you can touch.

The more than 20 Unimog exhibits presented by Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks at demopark in Eisenach featured mowers, casting technology, chippers, gully cleaners, sweepers and comprehensive winter service equipment with snow ploughs, gritters and snow blowers. All vehicles were showcased in practical operation in the open air exhibition as part of guided demos.

In addition to the Unimog implement carriers, the Unimog U 5023, an off-road model with loading crane and self-recovery winch, was also featured among the exhibits. For the first time, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks was showcasing the Unimog U 219 Low with a particularly low loading height of less than 1.20 m and platforms by Eggers Fahrzeugbau – ideal for construction sites and inner-city operations.

UNI-TOUCH® in action.

Another highlight of the exhibition was the UNI-TOUCH® operating system, which has been installed as standard in the Unimog implement carrier since 2024. At demopark 2025, visitors were able to experience live how UNI-TOUCH® enables easy and precise controlling of attachments.

Unimog fire service presentation.

With a modern touchscreen interface, freely assignable switches, storable processes and optimised ergonomics, the UNI-TOUCH® operating system is revolutionising working with implements in the Unimog, starting with the completely redesigned centre console.

Comfort meets intuition: The UNI-TOUCH® operating system

This allows the connected touchscreen to be rotated and tilted to suit individual needs. The operating lever with capacitive hand detection can also be configured individually and can be connected to the suspension seat, enabling it to follow every movement of the driver’s seat. New door controls and the start/stop button further improve the daily operation of this Unimog implement carrier.

In addition, the assistance systems in the Unimog implement carrier meet all the requirements of the current EU safety regulations (GSR)– for example with Sideguard Assist 2, front and rear area monitoring with Frontguard Assist and reversing camera, traffic sign recognition, a warning system in the event of tyre pressure loss and much more.

Even more variety in the range.

As part of a strategic realignment, the municipal trucks from Mercedes-Benz Trucks – Actros and eActros, Arocs and eArocs as well as Atego – are also structurally located at Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks.

The advantages of the new Daimler Truck strategy for municipal users are obvious: bundled expertise, coordinated vehicle solutions and central support – from advice to use on the road. This extended variety of offers was also showcased at demopark 2025.

The Arocs 2948 by Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks was previously mainly used on construction sites – but now demopark visitors were able to see it fitted with municipal operations equipment for the first time. The three-axle vehicle with wheel configuration 6x4/4 has all-wheel drive, a steered trailing axle and winter service technology for professional use on large areas.

Pioneers: eActros and Arocs in winter service.

At demopark, the all-electric eActros 400 showed how emission-free operation is possible even in the most extreme of weather conditions. This vehicle has proven its mettle during five months of winter service at Autobahn GmbH in Münchberg. It covered around 8,000 km as it carried out real-life clearing and gritting works.

It is equipped with a 6 m³ gritter with up to 2,640 l brine and a Bucher Municipal snow plough with a clearing width of over 4.5 m. This makes the eActros perfect for large-scale use on motorways and expressways. There is also an equipment variant as a roll-off skip loader, which can be used in summer for transporting grass cuttings, mulch and soil, or for watering green areas.
