One month, three trade fairs: Special Trucks shows what it’s made of.
September is trade fair month for Mercedes‑Benz Special Trucks. The Unimog will be on display at all three events: at IAA Transportation, it will be on display alongside the eEconic and an Atego on the world’s most important stage for commercial vehicles; at GaLaBau, the focus is on landscaping and urban open spaces; and at InnoTrans, it will be on the rails with leading equipment partners. Here’s an overview of what to see, where and when.
IAA Transportation 2026.
A major showcase for the future: IAA Transportation 2026 is the world’s leading platform for the commercial vehicle industry. From 15 to 20 September, everything in Hanover will revolve around sustainable powertrains, digital solutions and climate-friendly transport concepts. Mercedes‑Benz Special Trucks will be right at the heart of the action with its own stand in Hall 19/20 and at the Driving Experience in the outdoor area – featuring the Unimog in two different versions.
The eEconic 300 will also make its debut at the booth: This all-electric urban all-rounder delivers powerful, efficient performance and is locally CO2e-free – ideal for use in sensitive downtown areas. At IAA Transportation, it will be on display with a waste collection body, clearly demonstrating how electric powertrains are already transforming everyday municipal operations.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a look at the reEconic: This concept vehicle, based on the eEconic, demonstrates just how much circular economy is already possible in commercial vehicle manufacturing today. Whether it’s seat covers made from old fishing nets and carpet scraps, a dashboard made from lignin-based plastic, or beech wood – a renewable raw material – used for the first time: the reEconic shows what it’s made of.

GaLaBau 2026.
Green as far as the eye can see: GaLaBau in Nuremberg is the leading international trade show for urban greenery and open spaces. Gardening and landscaping companies, landscape architects, and municipal planners come here to discover new solutions for the maintenance, construction, and design of green spaces and open areas. For the Unimog as an equipment carrier, this is truly a home game. Hardly any other vehicle understands the demands of green space maintenance as well as it does.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks, together with strong partners, demonstrates just how practical this is: The Unimog U 535 is equipped with high-performance mowing technology from MULAG, while the Unimog U 219 features winter service equipment from Bucher Municipal. Both vehicle-and-equipment combinations embody versatility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness – and prove that a single Unimog is enough for a whole year of diverse applications.

InnoTrans 2026.
InnoTrans in Berlin is the international trade fair for transport technology – and in 2026 it will mark its 30th edition. Mercedes‑Benz Special Trucks will not be exhibiting at its own stand this year, but will instead be joining forces with its equipment partners ZAGRO and ZWIEHOFF: both companies will be showcasing the Unimog in various dual-mode variants for work and shunting operations on the railways.
