Unimog auch in der Freizeit.
And because eight hours a day on the Unimog aren’t enough for him, he has bought two of them for private use: He has a U 2010 from 1951 and a U 2100 from 1991 in his garage. Of course, he attended the 11th International Unimog & MB trac meet in Enkenhofen in July. “I was also at the start at Henne 100 at Gut Keferloh,” says Stocker enthusiastically, who - no joke! - even had the Unimog lettering and two vehicles tattooed on his forearm.
Guide for the Unimog U 435.
Because nobody at the municipality of Kempten knows the Unimog as well as Markus Stocker, they sought in-depth advice from him when it came to the purchase of the two new U 435s. “I am very proud that my expertise is also being listened to in the administration,” says the biggest Unimog fan in and around Kempten. The highlights of the two new additions: the widest tyres for grass protection (445/65 22.5), front PTO shaft, municipal front mounting plate, reversible fan, hydrostatic drive and LS hydraulics (load-sensing system). The load-sensing signalling system is a hydraulic control mechanism in which the pressure and/or flow volume of the hydraulic pump is/are adapted automatically to the conditions required by the consumers.
To prevent accidents at work, the Unimog has a 360-degree camera system. The loading area can be tilted to all three sides. And with the increased towing capacity, the Unimog turntable drawbar trailer can tow a load of up to 28 tonnes
Favourite spot: the driver's seat.
And with the increased towing capacity, the Unimog turntable drawbar trailer can tow a load of up to 28 tonnes. What kind of work does he enjoy doing most with the Unimog? “I love it all!” he says. “Whether mowing in summer with the Dücker DUA 800 MK25, an eight-metre boom, or keeping the roads clean in winter with the Kugelmann Duplex two-chamber mounted spreader plus Hydrac snowplough - I enjoy it all immensely.”
He finds it a real shame that the city of Kempten is not obliged to clear and grit between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.: “I would like to drive Unimogs even more than I’m allowed to.”
A true Unimog family.
And his family? “Yes,” he says, they support his Unimog obsession. The father has also given his daughters (five and ten years old) the Unimog bug: “They always enjoy riding along with me in their spare time.” Just like he did as a child with his uncle on a U 1000 and a U 1500. “We are simply a real Unimog family.”
