The new Red Bull Show Unimog in Finland

Snow, a show and striking images: in Finland, a Red Bull Unimog show is demonstrating what it’s capable of. The Unimog U 5023 serves not only as an eye-catcher, but also as a mobile DJ booth for spectacular events.

Red Bull’s new, spectacular event vehicle in Finland is - tada! - of course, a Unimog! And Red Bull wouldn’t be Red Bull if they hadn’t first put the vehicle through its paces themselves before the promotional campaigns in the country. So off they went to the demanding Vauhtikeskus test track in Vantaa. Here, the unique Red Bull Unimog, driven by MTV sports editor and F1 expert Mervi Kallio, had to churn through mountains of snow and prove its capabilities in snow-covered terrain for hours.

The Unimog, which was otherwise primarily designed as a very flexible and fast working tool for the most demanding jobs, was converted into an impressive party vehicle for the Austrian beverage manufacturer in cooperation with Veho and Autofabrik. “Nearly two years ago, Red Bull approached us with the wish to renew the Finnish fleet of event vehicles.

We were allowed to be creative and present our ideas,” says Marko Edefelt from Autofabrik. “We initially focused on eight different vehicles, but ultimately chose the Unimog due to its massiveness, masculinity and striking appearance.

The concept is the symbiosis of a completely crazy, rolling DJ booth, an extremely large subwoofer and the Unimog,” says Edefelt enthusiastically.

For Risto Eränen, Sales Manager Special Vehicles at Veho, this project was one of the most interesting of his career: “Veho supplied the chassis, i.e. the Unimog U 5023 and the special body mounted on it

It’s a swing frame that allows the DJ booth (the roof lifts at the push of a button) to be balanced on the frame completely unaffected when driving, even in challenging terrain,” Eränen explains.

“I’ve always said: The only thing the Unimog can’t do is fly. But now I’m not so sure anymore. This is because, as we all know, Red Bull gives you wings.”

Presenter Mervi Kallio is also completely thrilled about this exhilarating party vehicle: “Maybe one day I’ll be allowed to DJ on the Unimog stage. That would be it!”
