Robust chassis meets special body.

Under the bonnet of the GW L1 off-road, the Unimog U 5023's engine delivers 231 hp. Permanent all-wheel drive ensures that steep slopes, muddy forest paths or flooded areas can be mastered with ease. With a wheelbase of 3,850 mm and a gross vehicle weight of up to 15 t, it is robust enough that it can bring even heavy equipment safely to its destination. In extreme off-road conditions in particular, the specially developed chassis-body design shows off its true strength by combining flexibility with stability.

Versatile in the event of a disaster.

The GW L1 Off-road is more than just a simple load carrier - it is a rapid response vehicle for forest fires, floods and complicated rescue operations. Using the electrohydraulic vertical loading aid, firefighters can quickly unload extremely heavy extinguishing water roll cages and reload with life-saving materials in seconds.

The Off-road extension kit lets the GW L1 be used in a wide range of applications. The hydraulic Werner cable winch is indispensable for recovering stuck vehicles, while the snowplough on the front mounting plate sweeps aside heavy heaps of snow – perfect for winter service tasks. In the event of forest fires, a thermal self-protection system offers comprehensive protection for the vehicle and emergency service personnel against extreme heat. The pneumatically extendable light tower with high-performance LED floodlights transforms deep darkness into daylight-lit sites.

Originally developed for the beverage industry, the aluminium CRS load securing system guarantees quick and easy load securing. Folding side walls also facilitate rapid loading and unloading - directly at the point of use.
