The Swiss-based company based in Frauenfeld Thurgau has around 130 employees which maintain, plan, build and run the 800 km of regional road network, and thus all make a contribution towards road safety in the region. Major assistance towards this aim comes from their new all-rounder from Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, as Daniel Goldinger, Head of the Vehicles and Machinery Department, explains.

But the Unimog U 423 isn't the first operational vehicle with a three-pointed star which the cantonal civil engineering agency puts its faith in, but it is the first Unimog in the fleet. Mowing along the region's roads, ploughing snow or spreading salt are just some of the tasks in which it is already versed. And with a salt spreader mounted directly onto the ball points of the Unimog, we have the maximum payload available to us, meaning we can carry plenty of salt during the winter months," as Daniel Goldinger excitedly explains.
