The Mercedes-Benz Arocs impresses with its performance, reliability and comfort at Econ Engineering.
The 1,000th Mercedes-Benz Arocs rolls into Econ Engineering’s fleet sporting a blue finish, clear lines, and a strong look. But this truck is more than just a statistic: it represents a partnership that has been keeping British roads safe for decades.
A strong team for tough jobs.
Econ Engineering, the UK manufacturer of gritters and special winter service equipment, operates the UK’s largest fleet of winter service rental vehicles. Companies and municipalities can choose from more than 1,000 vehicles that handle ice and snow with ease. Last year, this fleet covered over 400,000 km, but its crowning glory is the Mercedes-Benz Arocs: a gritter with all-wheel drive, a high frame and a rugged body.
The latest addition is an anniversary vehicle to the core. Equipped with the Econ Spargo gritter, it takes the entire rental fleet to the next level and is always ready for when the weather turns. The Arocs brilliantly showcases just what modern technology is capable of: the OM 471 engine ensures powerful propulsion, the PowerShift transmission shifts gears precisely and with the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2, drivers are able to work in the cab in comfort and keep an eye on everything that is going on.
Reliability that pays off.
For Jonathan Lupton, Managing Director of Econ Engineering, one thing is certain: "The Arocs meets our high standards. Our customers expect reliable technology, and Daimler Truck delivers exactly that - day after day."
These vehicles keep the UK running in all weathers.
Heiko Selzam, Managing Director, Daimler Truck UK
Daimler Truck UK, the dealer Northside Truck & Van and Econ Engineering are a fantastic example of what makes a great partnership. Together they have developed solutions that are precisely tailored to wintry roads. Heiko Selzam, Managing Director of Daimler Truck UK, also praises the cooperation: "These vehicles keep the UK moving in all weathers."
Technology with responsibility.
In addition to power, control is also important. This is where assistance systems that can protect and relieve the strain on drivers come in. The suspension of the Arocs models is designed for extreme conditions. Whether 4x4 or 8x8, every chassis ensures vehicle safety on slippery surfaces.
Bob Holt, Key Account Manager at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, knows all about winter service requirements. Together with the workshops in the network, he ensures that the vehicles are always ready for action, even in the event of sudden snowfall.
The 1,000th Arocs represents both continuity and change, and shows just what modern commercial vehicles can achieve. For the road, for safety, and for people.
