“It allows me to get
to every residential area.”

Carpenter Christian Kurz and his Unimog U 327.

Christian Kurz's Holzbau carpentry business specialises in the construction of high-quality timber houses - and the Unimog U 327 is always on hand for construction and renovation projects, enabling the master carpenter to transport materials flexibly – and to reach even narrow residential areas without any problems.

The most practical utensil.

Although only 39 years old, he is already an old hand in the business: Christian Kurz from Rudersberg-Asperglen in Baden-Württemberg has been building wooden houses with his ten-strong workforce since he passed his master carpenter's exam. At the peak, four a year. Renovating old buildings and upgrading residential buildings are also part of his business. A few years before founding his company, he was already working part-time as a carpenter in the region – customers appreciate his diligent work and his friendly manner.

You need a crane to be able to erect the houses. And not just for that: extensions and renovations also cannot be carried out without this practical tool. “That’s why I chose the Unimog,” says Christian Kurz. In his words, it was the best decision to buy a Unimog – and for the second time. In addition to his Unimog U 327 in light ivory, he also has a Unimog U 1000 in his fleet.

Always flexible.

“On the construction site, you have to be flexible and fast. That’s me with the Unimog,” says the house builder enthusiastically. “To pull the low loader and the crane, I need a towing vehicle that is as short as possible. With the Unimog, I can get into every residential area and into any driveway. There’s nothing better for me!”

On the construction site, you have to be flexible and fast. That’s me with the Unimog.

Christian Kurz, Master Carpenter, Zimmerei Kurz

He likes to drive the Unimog himself: “It’s handy to supply my employees with material on construction sites by roll-off dump truck and then drive straight on to the crane conversion. That wasn't possible before.” He also ordered his roll-off trailer in light ivory – the combination makes an impression out in the countryside.

“We don’t just transport wood with it. We can also use it to transport rubble and construction waste,” says the passionate carpenter. The trailer weighs a total of 22 t. “That’s quite something,” Kurz says happily. To avoid getting stuck on meadows, he opted for mixed tyres. He also ordered the loading crane preparation, as well as the front power lift.

The front PTO shaft is important for operating a generator and the broom for spotless construction sites. And what is the platform used for? “It’s quite simple,” says Christian Kurz. “A 1.8 t weight is mounted there. I need this when I pull the crane or my 18 t wheel excavator. Then the Unimog simply has to be a little heavier than usual.” Well then: We wish you continued success in your work, and above all, in building houses.
