Unimog Nonplusultra.

Daimler Truck presents Deluxe Unimog to celebrate the 80th anniversary.

Is there really such a thing? Yes, and there's only one! To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Unimog, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is presenting a unique show vehicle: the most luxurious Unimog of all time. Based on the extreme off-road Unimog model U 4023, and in collaboration with Hellgeth Engineering, this truly unique creation makes this iconic vehicle shine in a whole new light with an impressive design and even more power than ever before.

Legend meets luxury.

For many fans, the Mercedes-Benz Unimog is the undisputed leader when it comes to power and technology. But to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Unimog in 2026, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks has taken things a step further: this unique version of the legendary universal power tool is not only the most luxurious but also the most powerful of all time.

As a result, Daimler Trucks is setting new standards in the Unimog segment: the off-road capabilities of this vehicle have been almost unmatched for decades, and now it boasts even more power and an unmistakeable design too, fulfilling the long-held wishes of many customers from all over the world.

A look that would make it to the big screen.

The show vehicle is based on the highly off-road capable Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 4023. This means that it already has the characteristic Unimog features such as portal axles and an extremely torsionally flexible frame. Added to this are the engageable all-wheel drive as well as interaxle and differential locks in both axles, which ensure traction and control even on difficult terrain.

When it comes to the drive system, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks has made another big upgrade: in the best-ever Unimog, the standard four-cylinder engine has been replaced by a Mercedes-Benz six-cylinder OM 936, delivering an impressive 220 kW (300 hp) to the road. The exterior is SUV-inspired and impresses with its matt grey paintwork, the aluminium beadlock rims and a striking lighting concept with modern, eye-catching LED headlamps.

This Unimog is also the first in the range to have a Mercedes-Benz Trucks MirrorCam system installed: traditional exterior mirrors have been replaced by digital cameras and monitors. As a result, this has improved all-round visibility and boosted road traffic safety.

This Unimog is a statement of innovation and passion.

Franziska Cusumano, former CEO of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks

More than just an eye-catcher.

It’s not only from the outside that this vehicle looks like something from the movies: the design of the crewcab is also inspired by the highest standards. The spacious cab has space for up to four people. The stand-out feature are its high-quality leather surfaces. Ergonomic seats with coloured stitching highlight the premium standard. There are also matching leather floor mats and LED lighting.

Franziska Cusumano, Dennis Kinzelmann's predecessor as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks, said: “This Unimog is a statement of innovation and passion.” And in fact, this show car is far more than just an eye-catcher.

Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is hoping that the Unimog Luxus will help with a possible new development stage. In the next few months, the vehicle will be subjected to tough everyday use as part of customer testing.
