The Unimog
Maestro.

On fire for film and vehicle.

Proud Turin native, passionate YouTuber and enthusiastic Unimog fan: Stefano Bagnasacco is a great example of the passion within the Unimog community. Whether interviews with other fans of the mobile all-rounder, vlogs from meetings or historical footage – the film friend shares his joy of the Unimog with fans from all over the world.

The Unimog in Italy's automotive stronghold.

Stefano Bagnasacco is 49 years old and comes from Turin, Italy. His passion for photography and film is not just a hobby: He works full-time in the cinema. He dedicates his YouTube channel “Unimog Italy” entirely to the universal motorised machine. An intensive pastime, but one that fulfils him completely.

Stefano Bagnasacco's enthusiasm for off-road vehicles began in his early life: At the age of 18, he bought his first off-road vehicle. One day while on holiday, he saw an orange truck with a star on the radiator and was fascinated. This fascination continues to this day.

A dream comes true.

For Stefano Bagnasacco, one thing is clear: he needs his own Unimog. After more than two years of searching, the time has come: at over 40 years of age, the YouTuber buys his first commercial vehicle made in Germany – a Unimog U 401. The all-rounder on wheels was used as a snow blower in a mountain village, but after a long period of disuse, it has fallen into disrepair. A lost cause? Perhaps for others, but not for Stefano Bagnasacco.

The Italian truck aficionado dedicates himself to the power engine. His goal: to bring it back to its former glory. Stefano Bagnasacco remains true to himself – because his interest in off-road driving flows into his work: he is determined that the vehicle should be suitable for off-road use again.

His first, freshly restored Unimog will soon be followed by the next project: this time a model of the U 406 series. When asked about it, he says that every drive felt like travelling with an old friend, with whom he was always able to explore new paths and overcome obstacles.

Worldwide Unimog Community.

Stefano Bagnasacco also likes to share his passion with others. He exchanges ideas with other Unimog enthusiasts in several WhatsApp groups. The members regularly provide each other with news and support each other with problems. The community also meets up in real life from time to time – in Germany, for example. The filmmaker will be attending two events there in July and August 2024, and will of course be posting reports on his YouTube channel.

But Stefano Bagnasacco doesn't just document fan meetings: On his channel, he provides his viewers with the full range of content. He conducts interviews with other enthusiasts, talks about his own experiences and gives advice, publishes videos about possible applications or presents historical recordings that he has digitised on his own.

Stefano Bagnasacco's goal: to bring the community even closer together and spread even more knowledge about the all-rounder on wheels. His video ideas seem limitless, and he never seems to run out of topics. He is always looking to meet like-minded people and takes every opportunity to share his passion with others. Any Unimog fan can see this for themselves on Stefano Bagnasacco's channel.
