Clear winner.

Unimog again voted off-road vehicle of the year.

To be voted the best off-road vehicle of the year by a specialist audience is in itself a special honour. However, to be at the top of the podium for the 16th time in a row: this is a sure sign of real legend status. Unimog delivers excellent performance.

By far the number one.

The readers of OFF ROAD magazine have chosen their 4x4 champion in various vehicle categories once a year since 1982. The Mercedes-Benz Unimog traditionally stands in the "Special vehicles" category - and with 54.7% of the votes he confidently won its class in 2020 as well. For fire brigades, in opencast mines or for expeditions all over the world: as a special vehicle, the Unimog scores with its versatility everywhere.

Extremely convincing vehicle concept.

The award as record winner shows the consistently high and convincing quality of the Unimog, which has established the good reputation of the all-rounder for decades. The OFF ROAD readers clearly state that the latest generation of the all-terrain Unimog continues this tradition in their opinion.

World record - Unimog drives in Chile at 6,893 m

Especially in extreme terrain with steep gradients and narrow passages, the Unimog with its short wheelbase fully demonstrates its strengths. But the all-rounder does not only score off-road: If it goes back on paved roads, the optional tire pressure control system ensures confident road travel at speeds of up to 89 km/h.

The Unimog remains economical: thanks to state-of-the-art engine technology, the Special Truck not only meets the Euro VI emissions standard, but is also particularly easy to maintain and, despite its powerful drive, impresses with its low fuel consumption. Its BlueTec 6 common rail engine with 5.1 l displacement has 170 kW (230 hp) and 900 Nm torque. Eight forward gears and six reverse gears are available, optionally also an off-road group for use in the speed range between 2.5 and 35 km/h.

Reason enough for a confident look into the future. The Unimog is also aiming for the title of the off-road vehicle of the year in the next round.
