As a tractor vehicle, the Unimog delivers some major advantages. With its compact dimensions, it is ideally suited for transport with low loaders or trailers along narrow inner-city streets. What's more, it gets to where it needs to be both quickly and economically thanks to its high levels of grip, even in places where the beaten track ends. Compact, powerful, efficient: a true builder that grows with its tasks.

Popular models.

Powerful range of output variants, attractively priced. Unimog U 323 and U 327.  These efficient specialists in winter service and transport combine a whole fleet's worth into just one single vehicle.

Manoeuvrability matters.

A Unimog U 427 drives to and from skips and regularly travels from Föhr to the Flensburg landfill site. Heiko Kohn's verdict is simple: “we would have been mad to choose anything other than the Unimog.”

All-rounder on the building site.

Well equipped for the job, the Unimog owned by Florian Dambauer transports construction machinery to both densely populated cities and the most remote  locations.

On assignment in the foothills of the Alps.

Applications

Lifting platform.

At work, the Unimog meets high demands in a very real sense of the word!

Often, difficult tasks have to be taken care of by hand – and at dangerous heights. No problem for the Unimog! The Unimog implement carrier and off-road specialist can be equipped with lifting platform or crane and work cage. Thanks to its optimal weight distribution and secure positioning, the equipment gets teams to where they need to be. A prime example? The Unimog implement carrier combined with the powerful Palfinger lifting platform with a jack lift of 1,300 mm and a reach of up to 16.9 m.

  • Lifting platform
  • Work cage

On secure footing, even off-road.

With its short wheelbase and compact turning circle, the Unimog can also get to hard-to-reach places of use. Off-road, the permanent all-wheel drive, drop centre axles and differential locks on both axles do the rest. TireControl plus tyre pressure control system is also available as additional equipment.

Among other things, vertical supports ensure that the Unimog is positioned securely. The outriggers' large cylinder allows the lift basket to be set up on uneven ground.

High-flyer.

With the Palfinger Platforms lifting platform, the Unimog U 219 L can reach almost anything! This custom-built vehicle really comes into its own when forestry workers have to reach high treetops from uneven ground.

Timber!

A Unimog U 400 with Hiab crane, fitted with a work cage, takes workers at Karle tree surgery onwards and upwards. The contractor is also planning on adding a work cage with a Palfinger boom to the Unimog U 529.

Applications

Crane applications.

Unimog supports tradespeople in lifting building materials, PV systems, radiators, etc.

A lot depends on the Unimog: despite its compact size, it offers very long crane ranges – stable, powerful and precise. The special truck can travel up to 89 km/h to reach its deployment site and can also tow heavy trailers. It's manoeuvrable, suitable for off-road use and gentle on the ground. The ideal work tool for carpenters, heating engineers and other tradespeople driving along narrow inner-city streets as well as across uneven terrain.

  • Loading crane
  • Rear-mounted crane

Compact with excellent off-road capabilities.

In addition to the equipment carrier, the Unimog is also available for crane applications. Even with a crane body, the off-road pro still stays below a total height of 3.5 m – a decisive advantage for low thoroughfares like underpasses on the way to the construction site.

Kranimog.

The Unimog is a truly excellent all-rounder, and all its implement solutions strive to do justice to it. Bodybuilder Fischbacher has now developed a rear-mounted crane for this special truck which – just like the Unimog itself – is brilliant in operation thanks in particular to its flexibility. What's more, it's also been named after the much-loved Unimog: Kranimog.

Equipped for extremes.

Extreme off-road capability.

The extreme off-road Unimog is a true off-road professional. It owes its high ground clearance to drop centre axles that allow obstacles to be overcome with ease. The hub reduction gear is protected against dust and dirt. The Unimog’s extreme torsional capability is based on its torsional frame: all wheels are in constant contact with the ground. The chassis enables a vast axle articulation of max. 30° thanks to the use of torque tube technology and coil springs, as well as a minimum stress load on the body thanks to double three-point mounting. The cab and body can be twisted by up to 12° relative to each other. Uncompromising all-wheel drive, differential locks and constant maximum traction also ensure extreme off-road capability.

Single tyres.

The principle: rear wheels follow in the tracks made by the front wheels. This improves traction and protects the terrain.

Fording capability up to 1.2 m.

The drive system of the extreme off-road Unimog is designed to enable the vehicle to ford to depths of up to 0.8 m or, on request, 1.2 m. In addition, the Unimog is also equipped with waterproof main headlights, central, high ventilation system and a double seal on the wheel hub. The catalytic converter and upright exhaust ultimately make the vehicle fully suitable for fording.

Tire-Control plus.

The switching logic allows the user to choose between the pre-set "Road", "Sand" and "Rough" modes. This means the correct mode for the current road surface can be set intuitively, making operator error virtually impossible. TireControl  also brings benefits for nature: driving off-road with lowered tyre pressure improves traction while reducing the impact on the surface.

Performance.

The typical Unimog transmission takes pressure off the driver and contributes to safety and comfort with practical details like Electronic Quick Reverse, off-road gear reduction and the EAS electronic automated gearshift system.

Use of implements.

An advantage when used with front-mounted implements is the front mounting plate for attaching snowploughs, earth pushers or front-mounted sweepers. What's more, the hydraulics for cable winch operation (60 l/min) and transmisison PTO are additional plus points ex works.

The right choice.

The Unimog model range ranges from versatile smaller vehicles
to high-performance all-rounders.
