Brakes.

In the Econic's design, top priority has been given to maximum road safety and short braking distances with the transfer of very high braking torques to the brake discs with high thermal load capacity. Compared with conventional drum brakes, the Special Truck with its self-adjusting, internally ventilated floating caliper disc brakes also achieves a payload gain thanks to its lower weight.

The Econic's low vehicle frame creates maximum space for bodies. To meet the requirements of specialised sectors, the Econic combines large-scale production components from Mercedes-Benz Trucks with an independent concept feature: its low-angled frame head.

The turn signal indicator and the other lights can be checked by the driver as part of the departure check routine with the standard "Lighting check" switch.

The range of mechanical interfaces enables individual adaptation to the major units to be driven and different body variants. A maximum of 3 mechanical PTOs in combination possible: 2 transmission-side PTOs and 1 engine-side PTO.
